Personal project - 2015/2016
Dust is everywhere, residue of the particles that constitute the universe, our environment, and fill up space.
Microscopic, elusive, imponderable, intangible, formless, it is matter. We breathe it, we absorb it, think we see it, it watches us, incorporated, living within us. It's a part of life, as are water, earth, air, etc. but dust is also a metaphor for time.
"We are born of dust, and to dust we will return."
It reminds us that time passes, things age and deteriorate as the days pass, and that everything is an end to itself. Dust evokes the cycle of life; birth and death, but also decay and regeneration. Medium of the time, dust lives and turns, it is a moving force. Despite its constant changes, this is a volatile memory, that holds traces and mind.
So I bring my own view on dust through a film project that addresses its future and tries to understand its evolution and what it conceals.
